Hey! I'm Ash - founder of Hunt & Gather

With reverence for the past, presence in the now, and an eye toward the future, Hunt & Gather interior Design Studio was founded and led by me, Ash Moody.

I’m driven by a love of art, design, and curiosity - inspired by the places that have shaped me, the natural world, and the people I meet along the way. Hunt & Gather creates meaningful interiors that help people feel they’re most human: grounded, supported, and at home.

Guided by neuroaesthetics and biophilic principles, my work is rooted in light, materiality, and nature-inspired detail, creating calm restorative spaces with warmth, clarity and intention. From large scale renovations and custom new builds to redesigning a living room or kitchen, Hunt & Gather designs timeless spaces with a sense of connection.

My hope is to shape better lives and contribute to a more beautiful world, one thoughtful moment at a time.

The Hunt & Gather store and studio at 115 9th Street is small in square footage and big in personality. Step inside and you'll find a thoughtful mix of vintage and new furniture, art, pillows, and lamps — the kind of pieces that stop you in your tracks because they feel like they were made for you. On the shelves you'll find Brackish, Vietri, and Sangre de Fruta alongside design books and cookbooks that Ash has personally used and loves — nothing is here by accident. Every object has a story, a purpose, or a beauty worth pausing for. Each month, the space showcases a new local artist as part of Steamboat Creates' First Friday Artwalk — their work displayed throughout the store for the entire month, where it lives alongside the furniture and objects the way art is meant to: as part of a space, not apart from it. It's also where Ash meets with potential clients — because good design always starts with a conversation, and there's no better place to have one than a space that shows you exactly what's possible.
